Waldo has been with our family for 13 years. For the entire 13 years, Waldo has stayed in the garage at night but goes out during the day to patrol and protect his neighborhood. On December 7th, at 4:00 p.m., Waldo was observed in our front yard sunning himself. At 6:30, when we went out to call him to come in for the evening, he didn't come. We took flashlights and walked the neighborhood, calling for him. All during the night we'd go down and open the garage doors, hoping that he was there, ready to come in. The next day, we checked with the neighbors (all of whom know Waldo), the emergency animal hospital, the Humane Society ... no Waldo. Day after day, night after night, we looked for him. I made a "Lost" flyer and posted it to our mailbox. We knew that something had obviously happened, but didn't know how - even though Waldo was "up in years" he was very street smart and we couldn't imagine that perhaps some animal in the woods had gotten the best of him. During a 2-1/2 week period, we decided that if Waldo wasn't home by Christmas morning, we would remove our "Lost" flyer and resolve ourselves to the fact that Waldo was gone. At 11:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve, we received a telephone call from a young man 200 miles away who said, "I think I found your cat wandering around in a fast-food parking lot. This number is on the cat's tag." I didn't know if the call was a joke or not; I was careful to not supply any information - I responded, "What does the tag say?" He said, "Waldo. He's really skinny but seems to be OK." We immediately spent that night driving to pick Waldo up and bring him home. He was exhausted and we could not imagine him wandering around in a business district 200 miles away and still be alive. We discovered, on Christmas Day morning, that some friends of a neighbor, who lived in the town where Waldo was found, had been visiting the day Waldo disappeared. We assume that Waldo somehow managed to get in the back of the truck belonging to the visiting friends and was transported so far away from home; when the back of the truck was opened, he must have jumped out and run. Thanks to the kindness of the young man who called us, and Waldo's Love Your Pets I.D. tag, he is back, safe and sound, at home! The best Christmas present ever - our Christmas miracle! |
You have been with me for quite a long time. As I have moved, rescued different animals, changed my last name, and moved several more times and I always ordered new pet tags from your company. Once, in a pinch, I got a store-bought tag from Pet Smart. The finish wore off within a month. Needless to say, I ordered Heidi's new tag from you. One of my babies, a retired racing greyhound named Adare (photo attached),discovered that someone had neglected to close our back gate. In a flash,he took off and ran around town for quite some time until someone caught him peeing on their rose bush! Because he had a Love Your Pets tag, a kind person called our number and Adare was quickly recovered. The best part of this story is that Adare was brought back safe from harm within a few hours of his escape. The funny part of this story is that he might have gotten away with his escape if he wasn't wearing his pet ID tag... the college student who was dog-sitting for me that weekend failed to mention that Adare was an escapee. On my answering machinge, however, was a follow-up call from the man who found Adare. I asked the student if anything unusal had happened while I was gone. "No," was her response. "Nothing at all?" I asked. "Nope!" she responded. When I played the message for her she had to eat her words. And I knew I needed a new dog sitter. Thank goodness my boy was OK! Thank you! Shanen |
Our Chihuahua got out of our fenced in yard this weekend. The gate was left open by a visiting child. We were frantically looking everywhere him, but no sign. An hour after we started looking, a woman down the street called. She found him and called the number on his tag. I had order the tags from loveyourpets.com 2 weeks before and put them on him just 3 days before the big escape. These tags are so cheap it is just a matter of taking the time to order them. If your pet does not have one take it from me get one and put it on your pet.

In March 2007 I was driving along the interstate and saw a dog running around in the median. Glancing around, I noticed many farms along the road that I thought that one was probably missing their dog. I pulled over and coaxed the little guy into my car to check his tags and call the owner. It was then that I realized this dog was a tiny little boxer puppy that was injured (scrapes and cuts). He had no tags attached to his collar. I called my husband and said "I'm bringing home a puppy I found on the road!" He was very concerned...of course, I was extremely upset over this little baby dog being abandoned on a busy highway and he seemed to have some serious injuries. It is now the beginning of October, and after an unsuccessful search to find his owners, we are happy to have him as part of our home. We named him Deacon. He made a wonderful little brother for our 3 year old lab Cooper. They are best buddies! All of his injuries have healed and we love him more and more every day! When we found him he was about 25 pounds, and now he is almost 70 pounds! Take time to notice life around you, you never know when a little ray of sunshine will enter your life! |
I bought Cash as a present for my husband in April 2007. He is a beautiful golden yellow lab. I knew the guy we got him from so I had kept my eye on him since he was only a couple of weeks old. Finally, after what had seemed like forever, I was able to bring him to his new forever home. I introduced him to my other 6 dogs... yes, I said 6! It sounds crazy but I love them all and have 20 pets total. Back to my story though, the other dogs seemed to like him except for one. My husbands Chocolate Lab, Hoss. He is a very territorial dog and doesn't like strangers (other dogs) coming on his property. After a little bit of time though he always learns to get along with everyone. We had only had Cash for about a month when one day he went missing. Since he was just a puppy about 9-10 weeks old I figured he couldn't have gone too far on his own. We searched high and low all night and all the next day with no results. I made flyers and posted them around town; even though we live in the country; put an ad in the local paper offering a reward, called the local pound and went knocking on doors hoping to come up with some sort of answer. Nothing. Although I was beginning to lose hope I never gave up. Almost two months later to the day...I got a call on my cell phone while I was at work. I couldn't answer it of course so I let the voice mail pick it up. The next minute I had another call on my phone. I decided to step outside and see who was calling me and why. It was a local couple in town who had had a dog show up at their house. I tried to call the first one and she didn't answer so I called her boyfriend. He answered. To my surprise he said that they had a young male yellow lab show up at their house that past weekend. They had already taken him to the pound because his son was getting attached and they could keep him. They found out after the fact that I was missing my dog. From the age and descripton of the dog it sounded like it could possibly be Cash. I was a little unsure in the beginning becuase Cash had on his collar and tags as far as I knew but a couple of weeks later my husband foudn them in the tall grass next to our yard. It was at that moment I suspected someone came to my house and picked him up. So at this point I figured anything was possible. I left from work on my lunch hour to go to town and see the dog at the pound. (I work 30 minutes away one way.) The minute I seen him I knew this was my dog. He had grown up a bit since it had been 2 months but if you have ever had a dog especially as many as I do...you could understand that just by looking into his eyes I could tell this was my baby Cash. I went directly to city hall in town and told them this was my dog in the pound and that I would be back after work to pick him up. As soon as we got there to get him his eyes lit up and he was so happy. We got him home and he played with the other dogs and went swimming in the pond...even Hoss didn't growl at him so I truly think he knew that this was his lost pal. We put a new collar on him with his old tag that I kept and he is still here today. I am so happy to have found him safe and happy and healthy. This truly was a miracle to me...to find my puppy who went missing at 9-10 weeks 2 months later is truly amazing. Even though the tag didn't help this time since I believe someone slipped his collar off and took him to town, I still feel more secure knowing that I have done what I can to keep my dogs safe. Thanks LoveYourPets.com for the wonderful pet tags at such a reasonable price.-Shelley |

My nana has diabetes. One day when my grandpa was at work,my nana's blood sugar level got so low that she fell down and couldn't breathe or get to the phone to call 911. I didnt know what to do. Luckily though though, Hero, her dog did. He ran to where my uncle Andy worked and got him to come help her. That is the reason that my nana is still here today. |
I have a doxie hot dog named Mollee. She likes to run around and one day he got out of the door and went outside. They are building a new bridge right across from our house and the workers there found her and brought her back to us because of the address on her Love Your Pets ID tag. |
My husband and I live in Texas, we moved there because he is in the army. We dont have any children and don't plan to have any for a while. We wanted to get a dog, a border collie, because we both have had border collies in the past. Well, I was looking through the paper one day and found an add for a border collie that needed a home. That night, we went to pick up the dog. After we got him (his name is Forrest) we realized he had been beaten by the owners and had many health problems. We didn't know if he was going to live or not. My husband and I are both animal lovers so we just decited to help Forrest as much as we could and hope for the best. We now have had Forrest for 6 months and he trusts us and loves us as much as we love him. We thank God for Forrest and neither one of us has ever had a better Dog. I love Forrest! |
Ordered two dog tags, one for my pet and another for a friend. The tags arrived yesterday, Friday, 9/7/07. I delivered the friend's tag last night and it was put on their dog, Duffy, immediately. Just hours after, Duffy got out and about 10 minutes after the escape was picked up by security who called the number on the new dog tag and Duffy was returned home. Thanks to "Love Your Pets" Duffy is back!!! |
